Activities
Birdlife abounds in the garden, in the citrus orchards and along the banks of the Coerney River, which borders our property. If that is not enough to satiate the soul, then our B and B is situated close to many private game reserves and is just 15 kilometres [10 miles] from the Eastern Cape Addo Elephant Park, which also hosts the other four of South Africa’s big five. All local parks are malaria free, a rarity in Southern Africa.
Conor, the owner of The Colonial on Arundel, offers personal game drives to Addo National Park and should you wish to experience the wonders of the park up close and personal, please make arrangements when making your reservation.
Conor is a highly experienced bush guide and has a passionate interest in South African History and wildlife. His tours into the park are more then 'just a game drive' for his knowledge of the area, its history, its wildlife and his wonderful sense of humour will enthral you.
Refreshments are served during this exciting encounter.
The Colonial Bed and Breakfast lies15 kilometres from the Eastern Cape Zuurberg Mountains with hikes, horse trails and elephant back safaris on offer, but all these activities should be booked in advance, if possible. In the month of October, the Valley hosts the famous South African Addo Rose Day, which is a national event.
