The property on which Magelevendze House stands dates back to 1908. Tough refurbished and converted into a guest house, most elements of the original architectural design and finishes have been retained, lending the property a stately and historic feel.
This Four Star graded Guest House offers en suite wooden floored rooms with twin/king-sized beds, tastefully furnished in an afro chic theme, the rooms guarantee a comfortable and relaxing stay. The name of the guest house is steeped in Shangaan legend; the legend of Magelevendze which is a clan name – literally translated the one with many heads.
Magigwane Khosa, the forefather of the proprietor was a commander of the army. A skilled and cunning warrior, Khosa successfully baffled trained marksmen who at war would automatically aim at the head, by ingeniously creating and donning a headpiece that gave the impression that he was multi-headed.
