Situated on 13 hectares of lush forested hillside overlooking the Umfolozi flood
plain and bordering on a private game reserve where wild life can be spotted,
Umfolozi River Lodge is the ideal getaway for both businessman and
family alike. While the location which is approximately 30 minutes
from St. Lucia, Richards bay, Mapelane beach and the renowned
Imfolozi / Hluhluwe game reserve makes us the perfect base
from which to explore all that zululand has to offer.
 
Enjoy a leisurely stroll in serene surroundings while we plan your day or
retire to your ethnic inspired bedroom where one can escape to from a long day.
With a range of activities to choose from there is sure to be something to suit
everyone. From the thrill seeker to the stressed executive wanting to unwind.
 
Sip on an ice cold beverage of your choice before treating your taste buds to
a delectable meal chosen from our large selection of delicious dishes to
enjoy in our cozy licensed restaurant.
 
Umfolozi River Lodge is a bird watcher's paradise with beautiful
walking trails along the Msunduzi River passing through the litchi,
pecan and macadamia nut groves. Where the call of the Fish Eagles
is a common occurance as well as Palm Nut Vultures frequently flying
over our garden. Large aviaries of exotic birds and koi fish
pond surround the lodge while the ponies, rabbits and other small farm
animals are sure to delight both the young and old.
 
Our overnight camping facilities consist of five sites all equipped with water
and electrical points over looking the Game reserve.
4x4 excursions are on offer for the enthusiasts.
