Lone Creek River Lodge in Sabie is an award-winning country lodge from where conference delegates, corporate executives, wedding guests, honeymoon couples and discerning holidaymakers can explore and experience Mother Nature.  Or, should they prefer, they can indulge in memorable activities such as hiking and back packing, fly-fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, white-water rafting, rock climbing and abseiling, bird watching, 4x4 trips, gold-panning, sightseeing, or shopping for African arts, crafts and curious.

Sabie is a small forestry town nestled in the majestic Drakensberg escarpment mountains of the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.  It is renowned for the picturesque beauty of nature in and around the town and is a popular malaria-free holiday destination.
 


Sightseeing
Sabie and the surrounding area is well known for its pristine mountain streams and spectacular waterfalls such as the Lone Creek, Bridal Veil, Mac Mac and Forest Falls.  Well known panoramic sights in the area include Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window and Long Tom Pass.
On a more historic note, the 125-year old gold mining town of Pilgrim's Rest,  the Long Tom cannon used by the Boer commandos against the British forces during the Anglo-Boer War,  the last resting place of Maria Shires, and the only Forestry Museum in the country, are all well worth a visit.

Tube Riding
Be adventurous and ride on the Sabie River on a tube.  It is an unforgettable experience!

Mountain Biking
The forests around Sabie are ideal mountain bike country.  The following mountain bike events are held around Sabie:

For a less exhausting cycling experience, enjoy the 7km of level tarred road from the Lodge to the Lone Creek Falls.
