"Tribes", at Knysna Log-Inn, is fast becoming known as an exciting adventure in African cuisine. Its mix of Old Colonial, European, Malay and Tribal African recipes offer a gastronomic experience seldom still found.

The relaxed, rustic atmosphere of the restaurant fits in perfectly with the elegant timber-log structure that has made Knysna Log-Inn such a local landmark. The style also perfectly matches the varied, but interesting array of dishes that mirrors our rainbow nation. Specialties include, Ostrich, Venison and Oyster dishes, many of which are served in a small, traditional 3 legged black cast-iron pot.

Tribes caters for intimate couples as well as larger touring parties. Whatever the size of the party, our personalized, friendly service is a trademark of the “Tribes” experience. For larger groups, buffet and set menus can be requested and arranged in advance.
